FAQ

  • Can I buy my trailer online?

You can configure and order a trailer online. The financial transaction will then be completed with your local Brian James Trailers dealer.
  • Can I get finance for my trailer?

Finance examples can be shown when you configure a trailer. Many of our dealers also offer finance.
  • Can I get insurance cover for my trailer?

Trailers can be insured when attached and not attached to a tow vehicle. This is available when you configure a new trailer. Trailers already purchased can also be insured via www.trailersandmore.co.uk/apply
  • What warranty do I get with my trailer?

Over and above the statutory 1-year warranty, all new trailers come with a 5-year warranty on parts that are manufactured by Brian James Trailers including the chassis.
  • Do I need a licence to tow a trailer?

This will depend on what you use your trailer for and which country you are in. The UK has recently relaxed towing regulations, but we recommend you check depending on where and how you use your trailer. In the UK, guidelines can be found here. Note that the laws for Northern Ireland are different from the rest of the UK.
  • Do I need to go on a trailer training course?

Unless you are experienced with towing a trailer, we recommend that you undergo some training. This is particularly useful for learning how to reverse with a trailer.
  • How frequently should I get my trailer serviced?

We would recommend a service every 3,000 miles (5,000 km) or at three monthly intervals for commercial / industrial trailers with intensive use. For trailers used less frequently, every 6000 miles (10,000km) and annually.

The standard check list should include brake adjustment, brake shoe condition, bearing condition, wheel tread and side profiles, breakaway cable condition, grease all moving parts including the coupling and jockey wheel assembly, also check all lights are functioning correctly.

All our trailers are available in different lengths and widths as well as having the opportunity to configure with a choice of options and accessories. You can configure any trailer on the website, and the price will be shown in the summary. More info
