ELECTRICAL CONTROL HUB
The main user interface of the trailer is the ‘Electrical Control Hub’ located on the inside of the front left hand hatch door. In addition, the trailer can be operated using a handheld remote control key fob.
The Electrical Control Hub consists of three switches and a battery level display. In addition, it also houses the Bluetooth unit for trailer battery monitoring and the quick connection port to attach a mains powered battery charger.
1: Main trailer master switch.
• This switch controls power to all systems and functions within the trailer.
o Position ‘0’ is OFF, position ‘1’ is ON
o The switch will become illuminated when ON
The RT7 has both lighting and power feeds taken from the tow vehicle. This gives full trailer lighting functionality and allows trickle charging of the trailer battery during towing. When the trailer master switch is turned ON, the connection to the power feeds from the tow vehicle is cut, preventing risk of overloading the tow vehicles electric systems (full exterior trailer lighting circuits are unaffected)
We recommend the trailer being in the ‘OFF’ state during towing to allow battery trickle charging, or any unintentional operation of trailer functions. We also recommend the trailer being in the OFF state when stored to preserve battery life.
2: Battery indicator display.
• This display only becomes active when the trailer master switch is in the ON position. It will display a voltage readout in the centre and a three-colour charge state in the surrounding blocks of the display. *
*The stated voltage will show lower than actual voltage if there is draw on the battery, such as when the interior lights are on or when functions of the trailer are in use such as tilt, rear door or winch operation etc.
3: Rocker Switch – Tilt operation
• With the trailer master switch turned ON, this rocker switch will control the tilt function of the trailer, up and down. (see also remote operation)
4: Rocker Switch – rear door operation
• With the trailer master switch turned ON, this rocker switch will control the opening and closing of the electrically operated rear door. (see also remote operation)
